Section 816.46(1) Continued. <br />Exhibit 42, Drainage and Sediment Control Plan, shows the dimensions <br />of the top width. <br />(m) The combined upstream and downstream side slopes of the settled <br />embankment shall not be less than lv:5h, with neither slope steeper than <br />lv:2h. Slopes shall be designed to be stable in all cases, even if <br />flatter side slopes are required. <br />The design specifications in Exhibit 42, Drainage and Sediment <br />Control Plan, show that the combined upstream and downstream side <br />slopes of the settled embankment will not be less than lv:5h, with <br />neither slope steeper than lv:2h. Slopes have been designed to be <br />stable in all cases. <br />(n) The embankment foundation area shall be cleared of all organic <br />matter, all surface slopes to no steeper than lv:lh, and the entire <br />foundation surface scarified. <br />The first phase in construction of all sediment pond embankments will <br />be to clear all organic material, especially topsoil for stockpiling <br />or other use, to clear all unstable material, to slope all surfaces <br />to no steeper than 1:1, and to scarify the entire foundation surface. <br /> <br />(o) The fill material shall be free of sod, large roots, other large <br />vegetative matter, and frozen soil, and in. no case shall coal-processing <br />waste be used. -- <br />I~ <br />816-56R <br />Revised - January, 1991 <br />
