Separate stockpiles will be made for these areas, one
in Bush Draw and one in Williams Draw, though bath will be placed
outside of the stream buffer zone. The Spicerton soil is a sodic
soil and therefore will be segregated from other soil types. Also,
any soil material replaced in these bottom areas will probably
become sodic in a very few years, so replacing these areas with a
better soil is not desirable. Rather, retopaoiling the sodic areas
with the same sodic soil that will be removed from them, as out-
lined above, will be the approach taken.
R@fi"Tipple'Ai@a
The soil to be removed in this area is 2.5 feet deep and therefore
this section does not apply.
Mafi"Mine"Aiea
All topsoil encountered since 1974 has been removed to a minimum
depth of six inches.
(d) Subsoil segregation. The B horizon and portions of the C horizoa,
or other underlying layers demonstrated to have qualities for comparable
root development shall be segregated and replaced as subsoil, if the
regulatory authority determines that either of these is necessary or
desirable to ensure soil productivity consistent with the approved
postmining land use.
Reis"Porth'Aiea
All subsoil (B Horizon) to be disturbed shall be segregated and re-
placed as subsoil, with the exception of Cryorthent, Spicerton, and
Coalmont (in Pit #1) soils as explained in (c) above, and the
Fluetsch (X15) soil area in Pit ~I1.
