Comments: MAC recommends a finding of "no historic properties affected" for this project, and <br />recommends no further work pertaining to cultural resources. <br />II. DESCRIPTION OF UNDERTAHING /PROJECT <br />10. Type of Undertaking: Drilling of three core holes for the sampling of subsurface coal deposits. <br />11. Size of Undertaking (acres): 0.3 acres (0.1/hole) Size of Project (if different): 0.7 (0.23/hole) <br />12. Nature of Anticipated Disturbance: A small azea (up to SOft x SOft) will be leveled to accommodate a <br />truck mounted coring machine to test for subsurface coal deposits. Surface vegetation will be removed but <br />the root system will be left when possible. The core hole is small and will impact less than one squaze foot. <br />13. Comments: Often the terrain does not allow for this amount of surface leveling and the amount of impact <br />could be less. All the core holes aze accessible via existing two-tracks or overland routes. No dirt work will <br />occur in association with access to the hole locations. <br />
