Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs
The worst case condition (ie. maximum disturbance with no reclamation)
is assumed for calculating the estimated financial warranty for this site.
The total permit area is 50.94 +/- acres. Of this, only approximately 35.6
(say 36) acres will be disturbed and require reclamation. The reclamation
tasks to be performed are described in Exhibit E.
- Pinal grade pit cut slopes to 3:1. Assume slope
length of about 1,300 ft. and cut and fill grading
to be done. Total of 74.820 c.y. to be moved
(11.4 c.y./lin. ft) using D-9 dozer (ave. push
distance of about 110 ft.). Est. performance using
straight blade: 370 c.y./h r. (Cat. performance
curves; includes correction Factors). Approx.
40.1 hrs. required (say 41 hc.) at $180/hr. $7,380
- Miscellaneous minor smooth grading on the remainder
of the floor of and perimeter of the affected area.
Est. 24 hr. required using D-9 dozer at $180/hr. 4,320
- Grade misc. runoff control berms and other misc.
ditches. Est. 4 hr. required using D-9 dozer at
$180/hr. 720
- Replace ave. 6 in. topsoil on 36 ac. (29,040 cu. yd.)
using a 637D scraper and D-9 dozer. Tasks proport-
ioned at approx. 809, of effort for scraper (used for
hauls longer than about 200 ft (ave. of about 400
ft.); and 207, of effort for dozer (used on side slopes
and push distances <200 ft.). Est. performance for
scraper of 340 c.y./hr. (Cat. performance curves:
includes correction factors. Approx. 68.3 hrs.
required (say 69 hr.) at $300/hr. Est. performance
Eor D-9 with straight blade of 480 c.y./hr. (Cat.
performance curves: includes correction factors).
Approx. 12.1 hrs. required (say 13 hr.) at $180/hr. 23,040
- Two soils tests obtained from Colorado State
University Soils Lab. Cost of standard test and
shipping. 45
- Fertilizer for 36 ac. per soils test but for purposes
of bond assume that 87 lbs./ac. 46-0-0 (at $0.19/lh.),
89 lbs./ac. 0-45-0 (at $0.18/16.) and 65 16s./ac.
0-0-62 (at $0.16/lb.), current price is $42.95; ac. 1,547
-23-
