Cultural Practices
- The seeding rates will be doubled if broadcast seeded. If
broadcast, the seed will be covered by mechanical methods to
give about 0.5 inch of soil cover.
- According to the local office of the SCS, it is recommended
that seeding occur during the fall (October) prior to snow.
The seedbed should be firm and the seed planted at a depth of
about 0.5 inch.
- According to the local office of the SCS, because of the
relatively large amount of precipitation received here, the
application of mulch would be considered optional for this
site. If elected, following seeding weed-free grass hay mulch
will be applied at a rate of approximately 1.5 tons/acre, and
mechanically crimped or anchored by other means to reduce r_he
potential loss from blowing.
Access Road
The access road is pre-existing and will remain upon completion of the
operation for use by the landowner and/or lessee.
-10-
