Martin and Benson properties until the outcrop is reached at the northern limit of the property. This
outcrop is immediately south of the BB Road detour. In order to balance the low overburden cuts near
the outcrop, cuts 66-69 may be taken on the west side of 2700 Road while mining northeast of the
Sunshine Ranch Corner (intersection of 2700 Road and BB Road).
The map also shows that the mining will encounter the West Lateral Ditch sometime near the end of
year 2001. A detailed engineering plan has been developed to place the water in a temporary pipeline
which will be moved to the approximate original location once the site is reclaimed. The temporary
location is shown on Map 2.05.3-1 and the final location as shown on the final topography map -Map
2.05.4-2.
The pipeline will be of thick high density polypropylene (HDPE) and will be designed to handle 38 cfs,
a flow much greater than the existing 20-25 cfs currently carried in the ditch. WFC has diligently
worked on the design in order to ensure that the CC Company will be provided a long term supply of
water that is equal or better than their current supply. The plan also ensures that no downstream user
will be interrupted at any time, since the work can be done in between irrigation seasons.
Mining will continue west of the 2700 Road until the western limit of the property is reached in the year
2010. Dates for actual mine progress and termination are based on many variables and the progress
shown on Map 2.05.3-1 is only approximate.
Coal Processing and Non-Coal Processing Wastes
There are no coal processing facilities nor are any proposed at the New Horizon 2 area. All of the coal
is transported to the power station by a transportation contractor. Reject rock from a rotary breaker at
the power plant may be transported back to the mine site and deposited in the pit at least 10' below
the subsoil level.
Non-coal wastes shall be periodically transported to the county landfill. Trees and brush removed in
the site clearing process may be chipped and used for mulch or pushed into an adjacent mined out pit
and buried.
S ;2eois_d ~/00; 2.05.3 - 3
