DETAILED DESCRIPTION
TERInR CREEK DITCHES MITIGA'PION PLAN
Present Situation:
The Faccett Ditch presently diverts flow fran Terror Creek in Sec. 21, T.13S.,
R.91W., 6th P. M. (see hfap 5-1). The 'Terror Creek is considered a perennial
stream. Diversions for the Fa~ett Ditch show flows typically between April and
October.
the Holybee Ditch presently diverts flow from Terror Ditch in Sec. 21, T.13S.,
R.91W., 6th P. Ft. (see Map 5-2). Diversion records show typical flows bet~.een
April and October fran the perennial Terror Creek.
Terror Ditch currently diverts water fran Terror Creek in Sec. 17, T.13S.,
R.91W., 6th P.M. (see Map 5-1). It has diverted the largest flow fran Terror
Creek and has flows throughout the t~.elve mmths.
• Terror Creek flows are a combination of snownelt, precipitation run-off, anc
diversions fran Terror Feservoir and Overland Ditch. Because of this additional
water, flow is on a perennial basis.
Pfitigation Plan:
1. Where possible, ca31 leases requested by CWI have been located so as to mini-
mize the effect of undermining. This is especially true in the 'Terror Creek
area where the boundary was located so as the stream channel was canpletely
and substantially outside the mine permit area. 'This would allow for under
mining of a small portion of the overall watershed and no mining under the
stream channel. 'This location of the lease boundary ensures substantial pro-
tectirn.
2. CWI believes that substantial protection of water rights can be afforded in
conjunction with regular mrnitoring and quick repair of subsidence-induced
problems. CWI projects small effects due to subsidence, but CWI has
endeavored to ensure quick repair of watersheds. 'Ihe repair procedure may be
• found in the Farx3eland Fpair Section in the Subsidenre Repair Handbook.
