Adequacy Review Letter.
Dear Mr. Amann,
I have received the above-named application, which is now deemed
complete. After reviewing the materials, I have a few questions
about the separate exhibits, which must be answered before the
application can be approved. I have listed these items under the
exhibit in which they are to appear. Where there is no reference
to a particular exhibit or any of its parts, there is no need for
further comment at this time. I have included a few comments also.
I acknowledge that by enlarging this existing permit area, many of
the original exhibit materials were able to be used by referring to
the original application. The exhibit headings in the new
application, however, sometimes do not match the headings of the
old ones, and the information was at times difficult to locate
without a "cross reference." At any rate, most of the individual
exhibit information was present, though there are still a few items
which must be clarified. These are listed below.
Exhibit A - Leaal Description and Location Map
The legal description you provided has clarified that the original
one was incorrect. The location map in the original file was
pretty poor, so this office copied part of a USGS map for the file
which better depicts the location of the pit in relation to Arriba.
(There is nothing you need to provide for this exhibit.)
Exhibit B - Site Description
(You refer to the original file, which actually contained the
Mining Plan under Exhibit B. The original Exhibit D contains the
information needed here.) The soils and vegetation information was
brief, but appears to be based on NRCS (formerly SCS) descriptions.
The soils descrigtions and the accompanying soil map may be
obtained from the NRCS in Hugo. Better vegetation information is
needed, which may also be obtained from the NRCS in Hugo.
typically this requirement is filled by submitting a completed copy
of their "CO-ECS-2" form.
