The staff recommends that the operator include in the lake <br />design; irregular shorelines, one or two islands, an irregular <br />lake bottom and shallow areas capable of supporting emergent <br />aquatic vegetation. <br />Please supply an amended reclamation plan map reflecting the <br />proposed final lake configuration, islands, shallows, etc. <br />5. Topsoil to be stockpiled for greater than one year should <br />have a grass cover planted to protect the topsoil from wind <br />and water erosion. <br />6. In addition to the proposed grass mix, the staff recommends <br />that the operator randomly plant an assortment of native tree <br />and shrub seedlings. Please describe the spacing and the <br />approximate number of each individual species to be utilized. <br />Tree and shrub seedlings could be purchased at nominal cost <br />from the Colorado State Forest Service nursery in Fort Collins. <br />C. Exhibit G - Water Resource Information <br />1. The Division of Water Resources is currently reviewing this <br />portion of the application, a copy of their review will be <br />supplied to you as soon as it is available. <br />D. Exhibit I - Sails Information <br />1. Please submit a soil description for each soil type portrayed <br />on the soils map. This information was not included in Exhibit E. <br />E. Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs <br />1. Final reclamation costs, for the purpose of setting bond, <br />will be determined upon receipt of a response to the items <br />outlined in this letter <br />F. Public Notification <br />1. Please submit a copy of the newspaper proof of publication <br />together with certified proof of adjacent landowners notification. <br />Please respond to each of the items outlined above at least two weeks <br />prior to the schedualed Board meeting.
