MEETING WITH WATER USERS - STEVEN'S GULCH DRAINAGE
October 08, 1984
• Page four
There are about 40 million tons of mineable reserves left in the
leases and after that is mined out, it would be most logical for the com-
pany to go back and mine the "C" seam under what is currently being mined.
Ron Stucki stated that the reason for the meetings was to eliminate
the feeling that the community did not have a chance for input and show
that CWI is no hiding anything. CWI is trying to work out any potential
problems now. There have been previous meetings with water users in the
other areas. In some cases, the users have shown C WI water seepage
problems and CWI had agreed to install a culvert to prevent that seepage.
Wally McCaw expressed that he felt CWI was "four-square and up-front"
and that this meeting was like every one that he had attended in the past
with the company.
Ron Stucki then thanked the group for coming, stating that CWI wanted
them to know what the company was doing and where they were planning to
mine and to feel free to contact him if they had questions in the future.
C ~
J
•
r~
