ERO Resources
f, ANtJI~AL PRIMARY PR ><'TIVITY DATA A m YSI4
C
Annual primary produotivity fractions were oven-dried to a constant weight
using a conventional microwave oven and weighed on an electronic balance
(accuracy to one-hundredth of a gram). Oven-dried weight data were
entered into computer data banks and mathematically reduced and summarized
by fraction according to vegetation type.
g. STATISTICAL ANALYSES
Cover data for herbs, shrubs and trees, shrub density and primary
productivity data have been subjected to the following kinds of
statistical analyses:
o Desoriptiw statictias
o Sample adequacy testing
o Student t-tasting
• These tests were performed to accomplish the following types of
assessments:
o Sample adequacy for sampled stands
o Similarity between affected and reference areas
o Establishment of degrees of difference between affected and
reference area pairs
I1) Desariptive Statistics;
Descriptive statistics were calculated for each vegetation type sampled in
each affected and reference area. The following categories of basic
statistical information were produced:
o sample size o standard deviation
o mean o standard error
o variance o x coefficient of variation
•
II.F^ 8
