SANTA FE LOADOUTS <br />2.04.7 (2) Surface Water Information <br />• The loadout sites are located appro:;imately 7~)Q feet from the <br />Furgatoir-e River at a point appro:;imately .~ miles downstream from <br />the Trinidad Lake Flood Control Froject. Frior to the construc- <br />tion of the dam. the areas along the river were threatened by the <br />peaF; flow from a major storm, however, the Army Corps of <br />Engineers Albuquerque office has stated that the dam now prevents <br />the river from e::ceeding its ban4::s during the 140 year - 24 hour <br />storm. The loadout sites are located appro~;imately 9 feet <br />vertically above the river, and 5 feet above the bank:. <br />Map No. 23 shows the only other major water structure in the <br />vicinity, the John Flood Ditch. The water rights are owned by <br />Model Land Headgate Company and the sole use of the water is fur <br />• irrigation.
