Richard D. Lamm
Governor
~~
999 -- -••
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
David H. Getches, Executive Director
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DI\
DAVID C. SHELTO N, Director '
July 2, 1986
Mr. Leonard Loukonen
P. O. Box 333
Lyons, Colorado 80540
Re: File No.: M-86-085, Weaver Quarry
Incomplete Application
Dear Mr. Loukonen:
i
Upon reviewing your application fora Mining & Reclamation Permit, dated
June 18, 1986 we have determined that it is incomplete under the Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Act (C.R.S. 34-32-101, et seq.), and the associated
regulations.
The following items must be submitted in order for the application to be
considered complete (Rule 1.1(10) of the Rules and Regulations of the t4ined
Land Reclamation Board, as amended, effective July, 1978):
Exhibit D - Water resources, vegetation, and soils information. Please
consult your local Soil Conservation Service representatives for the
vegetation and soils information.
Additionally, the following deficiencies were identified during a preliminary
adequacy review:
Application Form
1. The final proposed land use after reclamation cannot be "quarry"
because the term "proposed land use" refers to the land status
after all mining has been completed. Furthermore, if the final
aT-nd-use is "building site", the operator must include a
contingency proposed land use and reclamation plan in the event
that no building ever occurs. The staff recommends that the
"contingency" final land use be "wildlife habitat", and that the
operator Consult with the local Soil Conservation Service to devise
a reclamation plan consistent with this proposed land use.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
