i•
Exhibit L -Reclamation Costs
(2) Estimate of Reclamation Costs
As described above, available portions of the pit floor will be reclaimed as mining progresses.
However, should no reclamation be done until the pit has been mined out, the costs of reclaiming
the entire affected area, 104 acres not just the pit floor and stockpile/crusher area, have been
estimated here. Because the benches created for mining will follow the recommendations for pit
slope stability as provided in Attachment 6.5-1, no additional costs are anticipated to be required
to ensure pit wall stability. The cost of removing plant growth medium prior to disturbance is
accommodated within the costs of mining.
The costs of spreading plant growth medium, seeding, and hydromulching, following the
guidelines presented in Attachment E-1 (the recommended revegetation species list and
husbandry guidelines provided by the local N.R.C.S. Conservationist) have been estimated using
a contractor from the Colorado Springs area.
Estimated Reclamation Costs for 104 Acres of the Byzantine Quarries 112 Operation-Using_a
Bid from an Independent Contractor in the Colorado Springs Area.
•
Item Costs
Mobilization (equipment and personnel) $ 750.00
Top Soil Placement $65,000.00
Soil Prep Fertilizer and Till $13,000.00
Broadcast Seeding $49,400.00
Hydromulching $59,800.00
Total Estimated Reclamation Costs $187,950.00
Note: This bid is available from the applicant upon request.
•
