The attached map identifies our sampling areas, A - E. Sampling
Area "A" comprises most of the flat-top area. This area has good
road access, and we will be able to drive a small auger drill rig
directly onto most of the dumps, using existing roads. Drill
holes will range from 10 to 30 ft. in depth, and will be plugged
after samples are obtained. It may be necessary to do some minor
patching of erosional channels and spot grading to improve
access, but no new roads will be created nor existing roads
significantly altered.
Area B, Lick Skillet Gulch, will be the most difficult area to
access with equipment. We may decide to settle for hand dug
samples on these dumps, or we may use a Bobcat to do the sampling
at those dumps that are easily accessible by the old mine roads.
Areas C and D and are of lower priority, and may or may not be
sampled. There are numerous smaller dumps in these areas that
may be accessible for sampling by either drill rig or Bobcat. We
will select equipment based on dump size, depth of material and
ease of access.
We will immediately notify you and apply for a prospecting permit
if it appears that we need to disturb more than the exempted
amount of land to obtain the samples for our due diligence work.
We will also notify you in writing when we have completed our due
diligence sampling, so that you will know we are no longer
working in the area. Please let me know as soon as possible if
our planned activity is acceptable to DMG without obtaining a
prospecting permit.
Sincerely,
~~Gf~t-Q~
Ma ine Stew
Copies: Esteban Chornet, ITEC Director
Carol E.
