Revision
February 1982

are almost full of material, and to continue the underground disposal
system, access to additional mined-out areas is necessary. WSC proposes
to bury a slurry line in a shallow ditch on the north to carry refuse from
the mined-out areas of the East Portal. The fines would then be disposed
in the mined-out areas of the old ldest Portal. The return line for
recycling water can be handled by one of two options. Option 1 would be
to lay the return line from the West Portal along the highway in a shallow
ditch to the wash plant. Option 2 would connect the return lines from
the West Mines to the East Mine. This would require a significant amount
of underground drilling.
A minimal amount of new disturbance would be created for the Bleeder
Portal reactivation and slurry line. The portal was previously disturbed
and the ditch along the highway is maintained by a grader for drainage.
Approximate disturbance would be less than 0.3 acres.
Timetable

An approximate timetable for mining the various coal seams WSC has
under lease follows:
COAL SEAM PROJECTED ENTRY DATE
E 1975
F 1982
lJild 1983
PROJECTED COMPLETIOW DATE
1985
1985
1995
2.05-2g'
