Revision <br />February 1982 <br />2.05.4 Reclamation Plan <br />A complete copy of the reclamation plan is included in Appendix <br />XXVIII. Reclamation of disturbed areas of the Hawk's Nest Mine wiil <br />reclaim the area to a condition consistent with postmine primary land use <br />of wildlife habitat and livestock grazing, the historic nature of the mine, <br />and decisions made during meetings with the regulatory agencies. The <br />reclamation plan will address removal and/or burial of all facilities and <br />waste debris, the construction of adaptable contours and the distribution <br />of topsoil material, the stabilization and revegetation of disturbed areas, <br />and the evaluation of success and extended monitoring of the reclamation <br />process. <br />• (1) Reclamation Timetable <br />Western Slope Carbon, Inc., has reserves projected to last 35-70 years <br />and is pursuing additional reserves. Reclamation of disturbed lands will <br />be initiated as soon as seasonab]y possible after cessation of mining acti- <br />vities. Most facilities are scheduled to be used until at least 2013 A.D. <br />Permanent reclamation will occur immediately or shortly after abandonment. <br />Some interim reclamation or stabilization of temporary disturbance surfaces <br />have occurred and may occur prior to the permanent reclamation program (see <br />Exhibits 2.05.4-A through 2.05.4-C). Any temporary roadsides, berms, and <br />other short-term disturbances will be seeded with the seed mix listed in <br />Section 4.15 of this permit application.
