1 ' Reveoetation Revegetation is a part of the reclarati on plan. Rfter• backfilling, grading and leveling, planting an d seeding will be ' initiated as soon as practicable. This will usually be at the ' beginning of the next growing season after mini ng is completed. The following seed rnix and rate of application will be used: ' Proposed Seed Mix pounds Pure Live Seed ' Species X of Mix Per Rcre ' Western wheat grass, Barton 20X Streambank wheatgrass, Sodar 10% 3.c 1.1 Slender wheatgrass, common 10X i.l Switchgrass, blackwell 10X 0. `i Little bluestem, Pastura 10X 0.7 Blue grama, Covington 20% 0.E Sideoats grama, Vaughn 10X 0.5 Cicer Milkvetch, Monarch 10X 1_:; 5. 4 t The mixture for water edges will add Reed Ca nary grass to the ~ above species at the rate of 0.5 lb. per 1,000 linear- feet shoreline. ' The grass seed will be planted with a grass dr ill equipped with depthbands and press wheels. Seed will be pla nted 1/2 inch deep i ' and will be drilled between November 1 and Mar and soil amendments will be applied as needed ch 1. Fertilizer . In the shallower area of the small coves, marsh and aquatic ' plants will first establish themselves. These plants will probably include species of Cattails, Sago Pondweed, Widgeongrass, Wildmillet, and Bullrushes. Over time, the aquatic plants will spread around the entire shoreline and buffer against ' shore erosion from wave action and water level fluctuation. ' The purpose of the reclamation is to establish a vigorous, native plant community. R significant invasion of noxious weeds would be detrimental to this purpose. The area will be mowed periodically to control weeds. The weeds will be mown when they ' reach a height of 12 inches throughout the first growing season. Fire lanes will not be necessary since the area is not forested. ' No portion of this area will be r•eclairned as forest land or range land. ' E-3 1
