GOLDEN EAGLE MINE •
DRILL HOLE SUMMARY
FAULT/FRACTURE SYSTEM EXPLORATION PROGRAM
FEBRUARY - MAY 1988
GE 26-88
Code /TD /Surf. It was then drilled with mist (water/air) to
460 feet where at the rod connection a sudden flow of
methane gas and water accumulation occurred. The Maxwell
seam was approximately 5 feet below and the well was ideal
for possibly diverting the fluids very close to the workings
and at the mine level. The well could not be completed due
to the inability to pull the existing smaller surface casing •
to accommodate a larger well casing and high-capacity water
pump. The well was offset by 20 feet and a new well GE
33-88 was completed to the proper size. GE 26-88 was reamed
to its maximum size of 7 7/8 in. to 600 ft TD and left open
hole with a collar and 2 in. valve at the top. The well
also developed a caving shale zone at approximately 280 feet
where continued attempts to open it were causing circulation
problems in the adjacent wells. The elevation of the
Maxwell seam (6768.5) did not differ appreciably from the
Second Right workings (6763.2) approximately 95 feet: away,
and no fault offset could be substantiated.
GE 27-88
Code /TD /Surf. No water was noted during drilling after the
initial moisture level at -430 feet. The elevation of the
2.04-6 (f) (Revised 09/01/89)
