RXHTBTT D (CONTINUED)
How each area will be mined and the constraints on each area is
briefly explained below:
Area 1 -
This area will be wet mined and backfilled with sand spoils .
Approximately 8, 000 cubic yards of topsoil/overburden will be
stored and temporarily revegetated in the 25 ' setback area
along the east side of this area and the south side of Area 2A
for later permanent revegetation.
Area 2C and Slurry Wall -
• The slurry wall and the South Platte River channel
improvements will be installed in the areas shown on the
accompanying map as soon as the relevant approvals are
obtained.
• Areas 2A and 2B -
Mining in these areas will commence with the stripping of
topsoil/overburden. From Area 2A, approximately 8, 000 cubic
yards will be stored and temporarily revegetated in the 25 '
setback area with the stored material from Area 1 for future
later permanent revegetation of the banks and periphery areas
of the future reservoir. From Area 2B, approximately 55, 000±
cubic yards will be stored along the south 25 ' setback of that
area to potentially revegetate the entire 34: acres of Area
2B, although this area will be filled with sand spoils as much
as possible . These two topsoil/overburden storage areas will
remain to the end of mining to act as a permanent reserve for
revegetation. In the worst case, if approvals haven' t been
obtained for wet mining on Area 1, for the slurry wall, and
for construction of channel improvements, mining to the water
table may be initiated in these areas while the relevant
approvals are being obtained for these three items .
0 Areas 3 , 4, and 5 -
These areas will be mined last . As much as possible,
topsoil/overburden will be immediately used in mined areas to
build the required slopes of the reservoir and for
40 revegetation of the banks/periphery areas . Topsoil/overburden
may also be temporarily stored on the future berm along the
South Platte River, and/or in other 25 ' periphery setback
areas .
•
0
