2.05.2 <br />The condition of the mudstones are further aggravated by the presence of meandering sand <br />channels in the roof. <br />Production Rate <br />Coal production from the mines has been at a rate of 0.5 to 1.5 million tons pcr yeaz. Mining <br />ceased at the Bowie No. 1 Mine on December 4, 1997. Mining may be reinitiated to recover the <br />cast pod coal block. Approved Air Emission Permits limit production from the Bowie No. 1 <br />Mine to 1.0 million tons per yeaz. <br />The operator will not reinitiate production from the Bowie No. 1 Mine until its water rights are <br />reviewed and approved by the State Engineer. The review and approval would address whether <br />the operator has a suitable augmentation plan in place for the estimated consumptive use <br />associated with the mine operation. <br />Coal produced from the Bowie No. 2 Mine is trucked to the Bowie No. 1 Mine loadout. The <br />Bvwic No. 1 Mino loadoul will handle up to 5 million tons pcr year of coal produced from the <br />Bowie No. 1 and No. 2 Mines and~or outer mines in the azea Approved Air Emission Permits <br />limit production throughput at the Bowie No. 1 Mine loadout to S.0 million tons per yeaz. <br />• Refer to Table 2.05-1 for a description of major equipment to be used in the mining operations. <br /> <br />7R-032 <br />-4- <br />1/00 <br />z~g~oo <br />
