Long
Division Director
I have completed my initial technical review of your permit application. There are quite a
few items that need to be addressed in order to meet the requirements of the Mined land
Reclamation Act and the Mineral Rules and Regulations. I will list the items of concern by
following Rule 6.4.
1. Exhibit C
a. The submitted map does not show all permanent man-made structures
that are within 200 feet of the proposed affected land. During my pre-
operation inspection I observed fences, irrigation ditches, and a small
pond that may be within 200 feet of the proposed affected land. You
must revise your map to show these strnctures.
b. Your map must show the total area to be involved in the operation. It
is my understanding, pursuant to Karen Fox, that you intend to
construct a new access road to the mining area. This must be shown
on all of your maps.
c. The submitted map has a scale of 1 inch equals 725 feet. This does not
conform to the requirements of Rule 6.2.1(2)(e) which states, in part,
maps must be made to a scale not larger than 1"=100' and not smaller
than 1"=660'.
d. The submitted map shows that the entire 40 acre permit area will be
affected but the rest of your maps show you will have a 200 feet
setback on the south and east sides that, you say, will remain
undisturbed. V/hich map is correct?
