EXHIBIT A - Legal Description
That portion of the NW 1/4 of Section 32, T7N R47W of the 6th P.M. in
Phillips County Colorado which lies within the confines of the banks of the
Sandy. Said portion of the NW 1/4 will contain approximately 9.9 acres.
Delineator boundary posts will be set to mark the pit area as shown on the
attached maps.
EXHIBIT B - Site Description
Vegetation -
There is little existing vegetation. What there is, is primarily
grasses and weeds. This vegetation is periodically destroyed when
heavy rainfall, and the resulting creek flooding, occurs.
Wildlife -
No significant amount of wildlife has been encountered during any of
the visits to the site. There are no known threatened or endangered
species in the area. A copy of this application is being forwarded
to the Colorado Division of Wildlife for their review. Their
comments will be forwarded upon receipt.
Soils Information -
The Soils Conservation Service soils map shows the soil as being of
the Wages-Eckley-Dix Crn~lex. The statement is made that "these
soils are so intermingled that it is not practical to map them
separately." The SCS investigation reports this soil as being a
good source of roadfill but poor as a source for sand and gravel.
However, actual excavation indicated sufficient quantities of sand
and gravel for all county road purposes.
