8. As discussed above, no dewatering from Phase D is necessary as revised.
9. Storage of overburden and topsoil is shown on Exhibit C with overburden placed
within the perimeter of the mining phase and that of topsoil storage on the o lter
perimeter. It is proposed that these materials be placed in berms adequately
separated from one another to minimize contact during placement, maintenance
(seeding/irrigation) and removal during reclamation. The spacing anticipated
would allow for equipment"to work between the berms.
Topsoil placed in berms along the western limits of Phases A and B will be
vegetated to sustain appropriate organic viability and to prevent erosion of the
berms. It is proposed that this topsoil material be used to reclaim the product
stockpile and plant area at the cessation of operations.
10. A weed control plan is attached as R-10.
11. As discussed above no diversions aze planned as a result of dewatering. Further
comments of proposed water diversions and impoundment are discussed in item
13.
12. Pursuant to this comment, the applicant wishes to expand the maximum acre age
worked at any given time to twenty acres. Corrections to the relative exhibit> are
attached as R-2, R-6, R-13 and R-14.
13. The dewatering trenches are no longer proposed and have been omitted.
Explanation of the earthmoving mechanics involved in the reclamation of the
detention pond is described in the attached revised Exhibit E (R-13).
14. Because assurance ofpost-mining land use as residential cannot be provides at
this time, an alternative reclamation plan is attached as Exhibit E II-Alternative
Reclamation Plan (R-14).
I5. Timing of implementation of reclamation is discussed in R-13 and R-14
respectively.
16. Slope gradients clarification is shown on attached revised Exhibit F, R-16 and
erosion and siltation controls are discussed in R-13 and R-14 respectively.
17. Further information on ratio of seed mixtures and recommended planting periods
are provided in R-13 and R-14 respectively.
18. See revised Exhibit E (R-13).
19. Fertilizer application within Phase E is described in R-14.
