R-6
EXHIBIT D-Mining Plan (6.4.4) Revised 11-19-05
(a) It is proposed that the method of mining will remain consistent throughout
Phases A, B,C, D, and E. This entails the removal of topsoil (where
applicable) and overburden utilizing, bulldozer and scrapers. Mining
operations will involve surface extraction with front-end loaders and/cr
excavators.
It is proposed that a portable aggregate be located on the site on an ;~s-
needed, seasonal basis. It has not been determined the type or
configuration of this plant at this time. It is also proposed that a portable
asphalt and/or concrete plant may be located on the site. This provision
allows for the possibility of future civil works in the vicinity of the site. In no
fashion is it proposed to erect permanent processing plants on the site.
In the event that storage of diesel fuel, fuel oil and/or asphalt cement be
necessary on site, only certified above-ground tanks will be used. Su~;h
tanks will either be double-walled self contained in design or placed in
adequately lined containment structures.
(b) Topsoil (where applicable) and overburden will be sequentially removed
from each phase with scrapers, dozer and and/or motor-grader. Sucl-
material will be placed in perimeter berms as shown on Exhibit C.
(c) No water diversions are anticipated in Phases A, B, C, D, or E.
(~~ n4 f DI+.. n 'll tin' no nni {n cvn.evrifc 4i~n nrn~iel TG.ic~l
.~
hrbrt
(d) Each phase as shown on Exhibit C varies in acreage. It is the intent of the
operator to mine an area within each phase not to exceed ten twenty
acres at any given time.
(e) It is anticipated that this pit will be mined on a seasonal basis. As
mentioned above, the operator intends to mine in ten twenty-acre
increments. Dependent upon market demand and production rates, it is
expected that each ten-acre area will be worked for a period of 12 to 24
months, including off-season shut downs.
(1] The following information is CONFIDENTIAL.
(i) Phases A,B and C consist of terrace deposits with varying depths ~~f
topsoil and overburden. The average depth to gravel is assumed to be 4
feet (0 - .5' topsoil, 3.5 - 4' overburden). The average depth of gravel is
4
