I ~ 2.05.6(6)
The Operator installed five subsidence monuments in the limited extraction
zone along Hubbard Creek (monuments 17-A through 17-E). These
monuments will be utilized to verify that subsidence does not occur along the
limited extraction zone. The monuments were installed during 2001 prior to
the November 2002 longwall start-up in panel D-7, The Operator has
identified twenty (20) subsidence monuments to to measure settlement over
superimposed multi-seam extraction as follows:
r------------ ~ ----- ~ -- ~ -- ~ -- ~ -- ~ --
Lif1B iA i6 iC iD iE iF iG
~ ------------1---f ----i---i---~--'1--'}--
i24 i i i iX iX iX iX
f-------'----i----~---~---i'--~---i--1---
25 iX iX iX iX iX iX i
~________-___1__1.__J___ ~___J..__1__l__
26 iX iX iX iX iX iX iX i
~ ___---~-____l__.L__J___J___l__1__1__ ~
1 27 I X I X I X I 1 1 1 1
L______~--.__1__1-_J___J___1__1__1__J
•

TR-035
/~ PP/zoveD
11/3 o jp y
The above multi-seam subsidence monuments will have pre-longwall mining
base line measurements, post D Seam longwall mining measurements and
post B Seam longwall mining measurements.
The Operator will monitor the topographic surface, soil and vegetation
through interpretation of color areal photographs. The portion of the Iron
Point Lease managed by the Forest Service will be photographed during late
spring 2001. The area will then be photographed in five year intervals. A set
of the photographs will be supplied to the Forest Service and any changes
to the topographic surface, soil or vegetation will be noted. Field
investigation of changes maybe required. Mitigation measures, if required,
will be developed jointly between the Operator and the Forest Service. The
Operator will cease monitoring the topographic surface, soil and vegetation
after the acquisition of a photographic record at least two years after the
completion of mining.
Immediately following retreat extraction in the immediate proximity of a
stream, spring or pond, the intensity of monitoring that feature will be
increased to once a month for six months.
The operatorwill visually inspect known historic and modern landslides within
the permit and adjacent area for stability in June and November of each
year. Additionally, known historic and modern landslides will be visually
inspected once a month for six months immediately following retreat
extraction in their immediate proximity.
2.05 - 112 - 10/04
