I•
2.05.6(6)
surface contours affected by subsidence will be restored to premining
conditions.

(f)(v) A narrative of the detailed description of measures to betaken to determine
the degree of material damage or diminution of value or foreseeable use of
the surface follows:
(f) (v) (A)
The features which might be materially damaged by subsidence include the
water resources, roads and trails and landslides within the permit and
adjacent area. The Operator's facilities maybe damaged by rockfall activity.
The creeks, springs and ponds within the area projected to be mined in
current mine plan (ref. Map 14) have been extensively monitored. The water
level and water quality of the groundwater within the formation has also been
monitored. The results of the monitoring are presented in Volume III, Exhibit
3. Map 6, Geologic Hazards, shows the present location of existing
landslides, debris flow, potentially unstable slopes and rock fall hazards.
No pre-subsidence survey is proposed for the power line support towers in
Terror creek because no mining is projected under this structure. A pre-
subsidence survey will be done for Terror Creek Reservoir and dam prior to
any mining within one mile of the structure.
(f)(v)(B) Monitorino
The hydrologic monitoring program will continue. At least quarterly
monitoring will be performed. Surface streams, ponds, springs and
groundwater will continue to be monitored. The results of the monitoring will
be observed for abrupt changes in water levels, flows or quality which might
indicate mining impact.
The Operator has set up a subsidence network over the first five longwall
panels to gain as much information as possible to compare actual data with
the subsidence predictions presented in Volume III, Exhibit 15. Additionally,
the actual subsidence data will be utilized to check the design and
effectiveness of limited extraction zones.

TR-031
2.05 - 111 - 02/04
/j,~~RovE/>
S~u~ey
