Saleable:
Deposits of saleable minerals on the subject land consists of a
gravel-rich terrace deposit comprised principally of subrounded
to rounded igneous constituents. The fair market value for a
deposit of this type is approximately 25fi/cu.yd. For this permit
request for 100,000 cubic yards, the total value of the material
is $25,000. Issuance of a Free Use Permit and removal of the
gravel will benefit the public by extending and improving county
road service in the area.
IV. Conclusion:
There is no apparent mineral conflict which would deny the issuance
of a Free Use Permit on the subject land, The obvious need for
the material and the additional side benefits derived thereof are
compelling reasons to issue the permit.
Douglas P. Bauer
Little Snake Resource Area
Geologist
