-f

Richard A. Mills
December 14, 1978
Page Three

utilized only in areas of lower elevation (where more moisture
is available) and where the soil is deeper. Thus, the seed mixture
we would propose is:
4 lbs per acre of Critana thick spike wheat grain
(or crested wheat)
2.5 lbs per acre of Russian wild rye (if available)
1 lbs per acre of yellow sweet clover
5 lbs per acre of western wheat grain
(in areas of lower elevation)
Mr. Yoxall has indicated that a soils test would not be useful
here. We enclose a copy of a letter from him and will follow his
recommendation with regard to use of fertilizer.
Exhibit F
(A.) Rie have submitted a more detailed map sho~ding final
appearance. Among other considerations, this indicates, pursuant
to your suggestion, that the area will be reclaimed by creating a
few larger, irregularly shaped ponds rather than several smaller
rectangular ones.
Exhibit H
(A.) As we have discu+~'s~ed, Jake Kaufman has previously
discussed his reclamation plan with the local wildlife conservation
officer. A letter is attached from the wildlife officer, Mr. Elvie
Wagner, in this regard.
Exhibit J
(A.) Present vegetation types are listed on previously filed
Exhibit J. Diining areas 5-11 on the Mining Plan Map are presently
grasslands as indicated on the aerial photo accompanying this letter.
The present vegetation cover is moderate. As further noted on the
aerial, there are some cottonwood trees on the property which average
approximately 25 feet in height. These cottonwoods lie predominantly
in areas nearest the river. Soil types in these areas are mainly
river wash or sandy, alluvial soil Some trees exist in the northeast
corner of the site in areas of clay loam. The grasslands in mining
areas 5-11 are on soils which are basically clay loams and fluquavents
as indicated in the soils info in Exhibit I, previously filed.
