site will be replaced for the best available growth medium. In order to
meet your recommendations and those of the Soil Conservation Service, the
top 6" of material will be used as replacement material
The mining plan will be a Block Type operation wherein as a new area is
opened for mining, the previous mined area will become the working area and
the previous working area will be used to place the topsoil material to in-
itiate the reclamation process. With this procedure, other than the initial
topsoil stockpile area, (±0.2 Acre), no topsoil stockpiles will exist more
than one growing season, The initial stockpile will be located at the South-
east corner of the site and graded and contoured with maximum 4:1 slopes and
planted to reduce soil erosion problems, This stockpile will be used to re-
place the topsoil on the last mined and working areas.
The County estimates 20,000 Tons(Year of material will be removed from the
• site, Based on this removal rate and on estimated yeild of 200,000 CY, the
estimated life of the pit would be about 16 years. With an average mining
depth of 10 feet, the annual excavation area would be about 1.0 acre. The
previous mined area (1.0 acre),would be the working area fora total major
disturbance area of 2.0 acres.
The access road will increase to a maximum of about 0.8 acre, for maximum
disturbance from the operation of about 3.0 acres.
WELD COUNTY - SOIL SURVEY
PROJECT N0. -'
PROJECT ~,Pir%/G ~•,CVFL DATE SAMPLED ~5-~7~i9
.-->
/~.PO oaf r.0 /°.~
LOCATION ~~~~;~ 7`io./ .S~ct .f~%u SAMPLE N0.
