• standard prefabricated components and are mounted on structural steel
frames. Elevated sections are supported by steel legs anchored by
concrete piers. The primary surface conveyors in the mine facility area
include the following:
0 42" main haulage conveyor extending 550' from the mine portals
to the raw coal stockpile
0 36" reclaim conveyor extending 400' from the draw point
beneath the raw coal stockpile to the coal preparation plant
0 36" conveyor extending 450' from the coal preparation plant
to the clean coal stockpile
o Two segments of 36" belt totalling 150 feet extending from the
raw coal reclaim conveyor to the rotary breaker and from the
• preparation plant to the fine refuse storage bin
All surface conveyor belts, drives and transfer points are partially
enclosed by prefabricated cover structures or totally enclosed by either
underground installations or prefabricated metal buildings. Locations of
all surface conveyor belts are shown on the Mine Surface Facilities Map,
(Map 18j.
EFCI depends on conveyor belts as a crucial link between the mine and coal
preparation plant. Consequently, an ongoing maintenance and inspection
program has been developed and implemented to ensure continued safe and
efficient operation of all conveyors. This program includes regular
inspection of belts, belt support structures and all drive components,
regular lubrication of drive components, clean-up as necessary in belt
transfer areas, and periodic replacement under a preventative maintenance
program of critical conveyor components.
• Upon completion of mining, conveyor components will be disassembled and
salvaged. Any structural components which cannot be salvaged will be
demolished, disposed of in a designated disposal area, and covered with
backfill.
2.05.3-26
