Exhibit "C"
6.3.3 The Mining Plan for the Orlando Pit is as follows, (please also see map).
(a) Specify the estimated dates that mining will commence and end:
Present plans are for mining to start in the Fall of 2001 after permit
approval.
The deposit is anticipated to have a life of 15 years.
(b) The depth of plant growth medium to be salvaged for reclamation will
vary from 4" to 6". Although it is a rocky sandy topsoil adequate growth has been
established Topsoil will probably be stockpiled in this low volume operation. It will
be seeded with 74/PLS per acre of Western Wheatgrass. Plant growth stockpiles will
be located separate from other stockpiles (which will be product) out of the way of
mine traffic and stream channels or drainageways. The location of plant growth
medium stockpiles are shown on Exhibit"E" map.
• (c)As stated earlier, the overburden or plant growth material will be removed at a depth
of 4" to 6". There is no waste rock in this deposit. There will be no waste rock or
overburden piles to be shown on the map.
(d) Present indications are that the deposit will have 25 to 35 feet to be mined
(e) The major components of the mining operation are limited. Access to the pit will
be by County Road 543 and an existing ranch road which the owner wants left for his
use on completion. This road leads to State highway 69 which will be the main
transportation route for the County to haul material to their own County Roads in the
northwest portion of the County. There will be no office, shop/maintenance facility.
The only plant and/or processing facilities could be a portable crusher, asphalt plant or
possibly a ready mix plant. If they are used they will only be on site for a short time
since production is expected to be less than 70,000 tons per year. Since this is a dry
open pit operation there will be no underground openings such as adits or ventilation
facilities. The Exhibit "E" map shows the pertinent details.
(f) The only significant disturbances to the land surface will be the pit excavation and
the plant growth material stockpiles. There will be no mine benches, impoundments,
or water rock disposal area. The exposed pit area will probably not be over 4 acres
at any one time and the limited topsoil availability will make for small stockpiles.
