• to improve its ranching operation. The road and truck dump site including ditches, berms,
fencing, topsoil piles, landscaping, trees, guardrail, culverts and other permanent features
incident thereto and within the right-of-way of the haul road are considered facilities that
support the postmining land use of pastureland. See page 4-95 and 4-100 for more
details.
The dirt track road along the trace of the reclaimed conveyor corridor will be permanently
retained to comply with a landowner request (see page 4-98d). The dirt track road is
utilized by the landowner to access and maintain its land south of County Road 109. This
road supports the rangeland postmining land use.
The road (light use road/trail) to the fan shaft, which traverses Stoney Ridge, the bridge
across North Thompson Creek, and fan shaft site will also be permanently retained as per
landowner requests (see pages 4-98d and 4-98i). The road and bridge are considered by
the landowners to benefit the property and benefit wildlife. The road/trail supports the
unimproved range postmining land use.
• An access road provides access to the No. 1 Mine water treatment system. The access
road is shown on drawing D-2-5. This road will permanently remain in place. The road
supports the developed water resources postmining land use.
Loadout
All of the structures at the loadout were removed from the site during 1986 and 1987.
Some of the foundations were buried on site. During 1987 the loadout site was contoured
and seeded.
Based on a vegetation survey performed during November 1991, a demonstration was
made that untreated drainage from the reclaimed loadout has a ground cover of living
plants adequate to control erosion. Therefore, sedimentation control is no longer required
at the loadout. See the discussion beginning on page 4-99(b) for more details.
Wells & Explorations Holes '
The following table presents the status of the drill holes known to exist at the mine site.
Drill holes at the unit train loadout have been excluded from this table since that area has
. been released from the permit.
