The site of the operation has very shallow topsoil <br />ranging from no topsoil to six inches (6") in depth. 1'he topsoil <br />is deficient in many nutrients required to sustain plant life. <br />Sparse growth of plants within the area is indicative of the <br />poor soil condition and lack of precipitation. Plants located <br />on tl~e area of the permit include, Diffuse Knapweed, Yellow <br />SCartliistle, Hoary Cress, Field Bindweed, Spotted Knapweed, <br />Russian Thistle and Gray Rabbitbrusl~. Russian Thistle is the <br />most common plant located on the permit area. <br />2. There are no manmade structures within two hundred <br />feet (200') of the affected area. <br />3. No water resources are within the area of the proposed <br />operation. <br />All drainage from the operation will be collected <br />on siCe. No off-site discharge will occur. <br />The water table in the area of operation is estimated <br />aC fifty feet (50') below the surface. The water quality of <br />the subsurface water is High in dissolved solids, but otherwise <br />of good quality. <br /> <br />-6- <br />
