APPENDIX Gs <br />The right of Salt Creek Mining Company to enter and begin surface <br />coal mining operations in the permit area is based upon the fol- <br />lowing documents; <br />1. Two federal coal leases, No. C-0125515 and No. C-0125516, <br />between the United States and Industrial Resources, Inc. <br />were executed April 12, 1968, with effective dates of <br />May I, 1968. Copies of both leases are attached hereto <br />as Exhibits I and II, respectively. Under said leases, <br />the lessee has the right to enter upon the surface of <br />the lands leased and to mine the coal contained therein. <br />Both the surface estate and the coal in the lands covered <br />by the leases are owned by the United States. <br />2. On December 9, 1976, the Bureau of Land Management ren- <br />dered its decision recognizing that Industrial Resources, <br />• Inc. had changed its name to Industrial Assets, Inc. A <br />copy of this decision is attached hereto as Exhibit III. <br />3. Said leases were assigned to Sheridan Enterprises, Inc. <br />by two assignments executed December 22, 1977, copies <br />of which are attached hereto as Exhibits IV and V. <br />4. By a series of assignments, all dated December 5, 1980, <br />said leases were ultimately assigned to Salt Creek Mining <br />Company. The Bureau of Land Management has approved <br />these assignments, effective April 1, 1981. A copy of <br />its decision to this effect is attached hereto as Exhibit <br />VI. <br />5. Certain surface installations within the permit area are <br />to be located on lands purchased by Sheridan Enterprises, <br />Inc. from Ival & Ed Young, Inc. These lands were conveyed <br />to Sheridan Enterprises, Inc. by that certain deed dated <br />Gs-1 <br />
