• Ae previously stated, Anne BaldrYge's recommendations on sediment pond
design will be incorporated to meet ell criteria of rule 4.05.6, alnId con-
structed under the supervision of registered professional engineers. certifi-
cation of the constructed pond will be forwarded to the Division immldiately
following construction.
I
PEAK WATER RUNOFF ON UPS LOPE AREAS
Watershed area = 35 acres
Using 2.25 inches precipitation for a ten year-24 hour storm event.
0.19 acre-feet water = 2.25 inches water
0.79 x 80 = 6.65 acre-feet water
This runoff will be diverted directly to the meadow.
Diversions i,
Overland flow from undisturbed areas draining into the meadow will be
diverted away from the disturbed area by means of temporary ditches, to mini-
. mize erosion and to reduce the volume of water flowing into the sedimentation
pond.
These diversion ditches will be constructed to safely pass the runoff
from a ten year-24 hour storm event. Anne Baldrige has supplied the Blue Flame
Coal Company with the needed information to construct these diversions as they
conform to Division specifications. They call for a trepezoidal ditch design
that reduces water velocities. These recommendations will be followed. See
attached letter from Anne Baldrige to Peter O'Connor.
The NPDES point source discharge permit has been applied for. See
attached copy.
We request that upon completion, the Division inspect the diversion
ditches to evaluate what channel protection may be necessary.
The same design will be used in constructing the diversion ditches
• into the sedimentation pond. See Anne Baldriges' letter to Peter O'Connor.
