United States Soil
Department of Conservation
Agriculture Service
------------------------------------
Subject: Stock Water dams
Trapper Mine
To: Bill Agnew
Environmental Engineer
Mr. Agnew:
356 Ranney Street
Craig, _
Colorado 61625
Date: 10-6-87
File Code: 190
Trapper Mine has constructed a total of 44 stockwater ponds to date in
the year of 1987. Eleven of the dams were checked previously by Randy
Lowery from the Craig Field Office of the Soil Conservation Service.
Thirty-three (33) other structures were checked in the months of
September snd October in areas encompassed by the Enfield, Ashmore,
and Derringer pit reclaim areas.
All the ponds meet the criteria for the State of Colorado, and meet
the minimum criteria for Soil Conservation Service ponds. All of the
spillways, slopes, top widths and free boards are within the criteria
we look for.
I recommend that~the ponds be approved by the Mined Land Reclamation
Division.
' ~ .~
William Lee Hill
District Conservationist
Craig SCS Field Office
