SCOPE
This report presents the results of a geotechnical investigation
and analysis of proposed haul road construction required for the exten-
sion of the Energy Fuels Mine into the Eckman Park Area. The report in-
cludes a description of the subsurface conditions encountered in explora-
tory borings near and along proposed alignments, evaluation of the sup-
port characteristics of both foundations and fill materials, recommenda-
tions for construction of haul roads in both cut and fill areas, a dis-
cussion of the stability of proposed cuts and fills, and estimates of
settlement. The report was prepared based on conditions disclosed by ex-
• ploratory borings, observations of performance of existing haul roads,
and our knowledge of the soils in the area of the Energy Fuels Mine.
Data from several other investigations performed for Energy Fuels has
been incorporated into this report.
PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION
Three primary haul roads will serve the existing Energy Fuels Mine
and the proposed extensions of the mine into the Eckman Park Area. The
haul roads involve both new construction and additions to bring existing
roads into compliance with current regulations. The haul roads are iden-
tified on the mine plan as Haul Road 'C', Haul Road 'D' and Haul Road
'E'. Haul Road 'D' intersects existing Haul Road 'C' on the south flank
of Pinnacle Peak and generally follows the ridge line which separates the
•
