It is extremely unlikely that any toxic or acid-producing materials will be encountered during the
• mining operation since the total depth of excavation (20~ is shallow and tests down to this depth
show [hat the material is alluvial in nature. However, in the event that such materials are encoun-
tered, they will be covered with topsoil from the stockpiles [o the same depths outlined in the recla-
ma[ion plan and no more mining will occur in this area.
The operator commits to clearly marking the permit boundary at all comers.
2. Mine Facilities
There will be no permanent mine facilities on site. There will be no office of any kind, no lighting,
no fuel storage area, no cement plants, no asphalt plants, no truck scale or power poles. Crushing
and screening equipment will be portable in nature and will be moved off-site once mining is com-
pleted. This equipment will consist of a hopper, crashing unit, small feed conveyor, screen plant
and two slacker conveyors. The crusher and screen plant will have its own generator and diesel tank
to supply it. The tank size is estimated to be 3000 gallons and will have its own containment equal
• or greater than the tank size.
The site will use all existing roads to haul the product to its final destination. It is planned that the
material will be used to re-surface existing roads and provide new road base for any new roads
within an economic distance to the site.
3. Water Information. Rights and Augmentation
Since the mine will encounter water in the mining operation below 3-4 feet of excavation, and a
permanent lake will be left as part of the reclamation plan, it is demonstrated in this section that
there are sufficient water rights/augmentation for [his operation. Water for dust control and materi-
als handling will come from the same water right, which is supplied to the site through the irrigation
ditch located immediately north of the access road, at the south end of the field.
u
Piceance Pi[ 7/01 1$
