Organic matter was encountered in the silt <br />stratum in Borings 1 and 4. <br />• <br />• <br />IL <br />(4) Silty Sand: The silty sand was encountered below the topsoil <br />and upper clay stratum in Borings 6, 13, and 14 and extends to <br />the gravel stratum below. The silty sand is generally non- <br />elastic and is damp to moist in its natural condition. <br />(5) Sand, Gravel, and Cobbles: The gravel stratum was encountered <br />in all but Boring 15 below the upper subsoils at depths one <br />(1) to fifteen (15) feet below the surface and extends to the <br />bedrock below. The sand and gravel stratum is well graded and <br />contains cobbles ranging in size to four (4) to six (6) inches <br />in diameter. <br />(6) Sandstone Bedrock: The bedrock was encountered in all but <br />Boring 15 below the gravel stratum at depths ten (10) to <br />twenty-one and one-half (21-1/2) feet below the surface and <br />extends to greater depths.
