thin is a complex of shallow, rell drained soils and rock outcrop

derived from metamorphic and igneous rocks.
Average annual precipitation ranges from 17 to 19 inches. Mean
4anuel temperature is about 46° F. Frost free season ranges from 76 to
I25~days. Elevations range from 6500 to 7800 feet.
Retake makes up about 45 percent of the mapping unit and occupies
iidge~crests and sideslopes over soft bedrock. Un (Cabrini) soils occupy
the same landscape as Retake soils and make up about 20 percent of the
mapping unit over hard bedrock. Rock outcrop occupies ridge crests and
steeper sideslopes and makes up about 20 percent of the mapping unit.
r~ - Included are Curecanti, Hesperus, Lininger, and Trag soils. Cure-
canti soils lack bedrock above 40 inches depth and occupy toeslope fill
positions. Hesperus and Trag soils lack bedrock above 40 inches depth
