The application rate should not exceed 80 seeds per
square foot for the broadcast application.
Based upon the recommendations of the DRMS and the NRCS, the seed mix has been revised to include
several dryland shrub species, including: Wyoming Big Sage; 4-Wing Saltbrush; Clifirose; and Rubber
Rabbitbrush. For specific application rates, please refer to the revised seed mix listing in the revised
Exhibit 8.
The application rate will not exceed 80 seeds per square foot for broadcast application.
15. Per Rule 6.3.4(1)(c0(v), please specify what type of anchoring medium or method will be used to
ensure the mulch application remains an effective cover for the seed application.
One of the following methods will be used to protect the seed: erosion control blankets; turf reinforcement
mats; mulching, then crimping; hydromulching; orhydromafting.
16. Per Rule 6.3.4(d), please specify if the access road and any on-site roads will be left as
permanent features and specify how the flat staging area is to be stabilized against erosion and
weed infestation after mining.
The access road is already a permanent feature. The on-site road and flat staging area, upon completion
of mining activities, will be utilized as a drilling pad. A diversion ditch will be installed along the base of the
high wall to prevent surface run-on onto the pad. The on-site road and staging area will be graveled with
clean gravel from the on-site materials mine. Weed control will involve bare-ground applications of
chemical agents. Surveying for noxious and/or problematic weeds will occur every year the permit is in
effect and weed control will be implemented every year that the permit is in effect. Weed control activities
will follow NRCS recommendations.
17. Please revise the weed control plan to specify that surveying for noxious and/or problematic
weeds will occur every year the permit is in effect and weed control (if necessary) will be
implemented every year the permit is in effect.
Surveying for noxious and/or problematic weeds will occur every year the permit is in effect and weed
control will be implemented every year that the permit is in effect. Weed control activities will follow NRCS
recommendations.
18. Please revise the reclamation cost estimate to account for any revisions made in response to the
comments above.
Slopes will be seeded with the revised seed mix provided on page S of the revised Exhibit 8. The flat area
created by removal of the matedal will be utilized as a drilling pad and jurisdiction over the area will pass
from the DRMS to the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. The flat area will be graveled
with clean gravel from the on-site materials mine. If for any reason, the flat area is not utilized for gas
production and development, the flat area will be reseeded with aNRCS-recommended dryland pasture
mix. The Reclamation Cost estimate will remain at $25,000.00 to ensure that any potential costs are
accounted for.
Exhibit E -Maps
19. Per Rule 6.35.5(a), please ensure all maps are signed and dated as specified in Rule 6.2.1 and
that they identify and outline the area that corresponds with the application (permit area
boundary).
All maps requiring a signature and date have been revised to include such. The revised versions of these
maps are included in Attachments 4 and 8.
Cordilleran Compliance Services, Inc.
Grand Junction, CO • Denver, CO • Casper, WY • Laramie, WY • Lander, WY
Environmental Consulting Engineers and Scientists
