• <br />INTRODUCTION <br />SUMMARY <br />The Bear Coal Company, in an attempt to clear up all misunderstandings <br />regarding reclamation responsibilities at Bear No. 1 and No. 2 has <br />developed a final reclamation plan for the Bear No. 1 and No. 2 mines. <br />Several steps have been taken to outline the general areas of <br />responsibility at Bear No. 1 and No. 2 and to complete all remaining <br />reclamation tasks. These steps include: <br />• Identifying final relocation of the North Fork of the Gunnison <br />and relocation of State Highway 133 <br />• Identifying (by field survey, August 1985) the boundary of the <br />West Elk Coal Company (ARCO) as outlined by West Elk permit <br />boundary signs <br />• Developing a reclamation plan for all areas under the <br />responsibility of Bear Coal Company <br />• <br />Areas of reclamation responsibility, river and highway location, and <br />completed and remaining reclamation activities are presented in Map 1, <br />Bear No. 1 and No. 2 Reclamation Plan. <br />Due to the reclamation already completed at Bear No. 1 and No. 2, Bear <br />Coal Company is requesting a partial bond release. <br />-i- <br />
