• standard (36.0) and thus qualifies the site for next years
1
`- bond release consideration.
Annual grasses and forbs contributed only 0.5 o absolute
cover. Noxious weeds contributed 0.6 ~ absolute cover and
were intercepted by sampling on only one of the fourteen
transects. Both of these values in conjunction with the fact
that annuals and noxious weeds composed only 3.1 o relative
cover are indicative that the reclamation efforts at the mine
sites have resulted in healthy, stable vegetation. Perennial
grass and forb cover were sampled at 26.0 o and 11.7 ~
respectively.
•
Production (Table 2; summary in Tables 3A - 3C).
Total production was found to be 47.4 grams per 1/4
square meter, or 1692 pounds per acre. Perennial, non-noxious
plant species composed the bulk of that total (94.7 ~) with
44.9 grams/1/4 square meter or 1603 pounds per acre. This
latter amount exceeds the standard of 1600 pounds per acre.
Table 3C lists the relative contributions of each life
form to the total production value. Perennial grasses and
forbs contributed 79.3 and 15.4 % respectively of the
• production, or 94.7 ~ combined. Annual grasses, annual forbs,
and noxious weeds all contributed individually less than 2.0 ~
7
