scattered scrub oak on extremely steep Talus slopes. Very little wildlife sign
has been observed here. The storate areas and roads will moderately affect
small mammal populations by the temporary complete loss of habitat.
I
The general effect after the proposed operation is expected to be from
minimal to beneficial due to reclamation plans.
Proposed disturbance is not expected to disrupt any known migration route.
Whenever increased human activity occurs, both the activity and its associated
noise will tend to cause the more timid species to retreat. This, however,
will reverse after the operation ceases and reclamation is accomplished. This
operation has existed since the fall of 1972 and in 1975 both bear and mountain
lion tracks were identified on the property. Since both of these species pre-
fer semi-wilderness and wilderness habitat it can be assumed that the activity
and noise were not affecting them.

Ex. H - 2
