Beavers
Mined Land Reclamation Re: Dickerson Granite Pit
1313 Sherman St. File. No M-78-305
Denver, Co 80203
Dear Mr. Beavers,
This letter is in response to yours of January 18, 1984.
Application
Additions to the original application are as follows:
No. 7 Mineral Owners: Clanton L. & Dale
No. 9 Type of Mine/Substance: Surface/Decomposed Granite.
No. 14 Present Land Use: Open Ran~,e/Pasture.
No. 15 Proposed Future Use: Open Range/Pasture.
Exhibit B
Under no circumstances will the operator remove more than
70,000 tons of material in a year. Your concern with Phase 4
and 5 fails to recognize that each phase will be completed over
4 to 5 years. Good mining practices and good economics not-
with-standing, you may be assured that removal of over-burden
and the removal of exposed granite will be done in about 4 mini-
steps in phase 4 and again in phase 5. As in the past, opening
a working area will involve stripping over-burden from about 1
acre and mining into the face of the material. At any time
the topsoil is removed it will be shaped and seeded as stated
in the ReclamationPlan.
Exhibit D
As a condition for obtaining a mining permit the operator will
agree to temporarily halt all mining activity in times of crit-
ical winter periods upon the request of the Colorado Division
of Wildlife. In so doing, it is also our understanding that
the Division of Wildlife will only impose such restrictions
when the immediate area of the mining operation is actively
used during harsh winter seasons and such restrictions will
be lifted within a reasonable time period. in view of past
cooperation the operator anticipates no problem in assuring a
mutually satisfactory arrangement with the Division & I~D_,RB.
