E:hibit E CMLRB 112 Permit ApplicnCion
Agile Stone Systems. Inc.
• type of seedbed preparation techniques,
type of mulching practices,
approximate slope,
problems or conditions,
past and future land use.
All samples will be placed in clean polyethylene bags at the time of collection, sealed and
delivered to the laboratory as soon as possible. When samples cannot be delivered within
24 hours of collection, they will be air-dried in a "dust free" environment for about 48
hours or as recommended by the laboratory. Samples will be analyzed for:
pH potassium (ppm)
texture electrical conductivity (mnrhos/cm)
percent organic matter lime estimate
NH4-N and NO3-N (ppm) sodium adsorption ratio, if necessary
phosphorus (ppm)
2.7 Fertilizer Broadcasting
Fertilizer application concentration will be based on recommendations from the
laboratory sample analyses. Fertilizer will be broadcast over the seedbed using hand-
operated "cyclone-type" seeders or rotary broadcast equipment attached to construction
or revegetation machinery. All equipment will be equipped with metering devices.
Fertilizer application will take place prior to final seedbed preparation treatment to ensure
• the incorporation of fertilizer into the seedbed. Fertilizer broadcasting operations will not
be conducted when wind velocities would interfere with even fertilizer distribution.
2.8 Seedbed Preparation
During the placement of any topsoil or admixtures, it will be placed to
1) achieve an uniform thickness
2) minimize compaction and erosion and
3) preserve biological, physical, and chemical properties.
Soil will be applied by moving truck to minimize grading requirements and compaction
from multiple equipment passes over the azea being reclaimed. All final grading will be
completed along the contour or perpendicular to the prevailing wind direction, where
safety conditions permit, to minimize erosion and maximize site stability. Following
grading, the surface will be prepared for topsoil application by utilizing a disk, harrow or
chisel plow depending upon site conditions and availability. Ideally, soil will be applied
on areas to be seeded less than 30 days prior to seeding.
Seedbed material will be spread to an even depth per material directions. Seedbed
materials containing excessive moisture will not be handled or spread to avoid excessive
compaction. The seed bed surface will then be left in a roughened condition to inhibit
erosion and provide a receptive surface to subsequent reclamation procedures.
• 9
