Exhibit E CMLRB 112 Permit Application
Agile Stone Systems. Inc.
• removed and/or backfilled to a 1:1 or flatter slope with rock talus. The rock extraction
areas along the northwest, north and northeast areas of will be left "stair-stepped" in lifts
varying from a few feet to several feet high and deep following the existing bedding
plane angle back toward undisturbed rock outcrop. The final slope configuration will not
exceed l :l . No veriica] step of the final quarry site will exceed 8'. The steps will vary in
height and depth to attain as natural appearance as possible. Lazge rock talus, +8", will
be placed in the drainage channel of the site to control storm run-off. Topsoil and/or the
topsoil admixture will be placed on the flatter areas of the mined area on either side of the
drainage channel. The planting medium will not be placed in the flow path of any storm
drainage. The soils will be revegetated with seed mixtures similaz to those used in the
granite quarry listed in Exhibit F. Also, see the final mining and reclamation map of the
sandstone aze to review the final configuration and topographic projection of the area.
The topographic appearance of the mined azea will be quite similar to the original
topography due to the mining method used following the existing bedding plane dip. The
steeper zones presently seen close to the drainage channel on the Pre-Mining Plan Map,
Exhibit C, will be reduced and moved towazds the limits of the affected land boundazies
from the proposed mining. A safer land topography will exist after mining than currently
exists. There will be no highwalls involved in the final reclamation of the sandstone
quarry. The reinforced concrete used in the 2 pilings of each crossing across the
Tallahassee Creek will be removed, broken and buried in gavel area ID.
2.4 Ripping Compacted Surfaces
• Reclaimed roads, railroads and stockpile areas and any other compacted surfaces will be
ripped to varying depths of 6" to 12" depending upon the degree of compaction prior to
the placement of topsoil.
2.5 Topsoil Replacement
While salvaged topsoil is expected from depths between 6" and 12", some areas will have
no topsoil to salvage. (Exhibit I) Replacement topsoil depths comparable to those
salvaged, or an average of 9" evenly placed, is expected. Topsoil and/or admixture
applied to quarry benches will be 12" deep. Since the quarry areas aze more topsoil
deficient than the gravel baz areas, experimentation with mixing fines from crushing and
screening for a topsoil admixture will be conducted. If successful, the topsoil for the
quarry area may be supplemented with the admixture. Topsoil used on top of all berms
and the gravel baz surface reclaimed are expected to be only topsoil.
2.6 Seedbed Material (Topsoil) Sampling and Fertilizer Selection
A laboratory will be contracted +15 days in advance of any sampling of newly reclaimed
and seeded areas. Two composite samples from 0" to 6" and 6" to 20" depths will be
taken. Samples will be taken with either a the spade or soil auger free of foreign
substances or rust. No galvanized tools will be used. About 1 quart of material will be
collected for each composite sample. The sample locations will be noted on a project
map. The laboratory will be briefed on the following items for each sample or
appropriate set of samples:
. plant species to be established,
8
