'` •' EXHIBIT I - Soi~Information <br />UNITED STATF,S <br />DEPARTMENT OF <br />AGRICULTURE <br />DATE: October 16, 1996 <br />Natural <br />Resources <br />Conservation <br />Service <br />FROM: Ron Neher, Resource Conservationist <br />• <br />60 Flickory Ave. <br />Akron, CO 80720 <br />(970) 345-2006 <br />TO: Akron Ready Mix <br />SUBJECT: Reclamation Plan for EI/2SE1/4 Sec. 10 and Nl./2 and <br />SW1/4 Sec. l.l, T2N, R51W. <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The following is a reclamation plan for a gravel pit to he <br />constructed on Surveyor Creek near Plat.ner, F,l/2,SF,l/4 Section 10 <br />and the N1/2 and SW1/4 Section 11, Township 2 North, Range 5] <br />West, of the 6th P.M., Washington County, Colorado. This <br />reclamation plan involves an appro:timately 50 acre site in <br />Surveyor Creek, which runs the full length throughout the legally <br />described area. Gravel mi.niny operations have not begun as of <br />the field visit on October 15, 1.996. The approximate elevation <br />of the area ranges from 4425 to 4900 feet. <br />SITE DF,SCRIPTiON <br />Soils <br />The 50 acre (approximate) site i.n the Surveyor Creek <br />drainage r_onsists wholly of Paoli fine sandy loam. This deep, <br />well drained soil is on flood plains of intermittent drainageways <br />and is formed on mixed alluvium. Slopes average from 0~ to 7,'h. <br />Included in this unit are small areas of Table Mountain loam and <br />Bankard sand. Permeability of Paoli fine sandy loam is <br />moderately rapid. The hazard of this soil type to water erosion <br />is low, while the hazard to wind erosion is severe. Paoli fine <br />sandy loam is in the Overflow range site and is classed as Class <br />Iile. Other neighboring soil types and their descriptions are <br />attached. <br />For added reference, the proposed site is in MLRA (Major <br />land Resource Area) 67. <br />Topography <br />(See attached topography map.) <br />Wildlife <br />Deer and pheasant have been <br />other animals and birds common to <br />expected to be found i.n the area. <br />noted on the site.
