Pit 112. Please provide.
6.4.7 EXHIBIT G -Water Information
13. The applicant specifies on page 10 that there aze no nearby wells or significant bodies of
water that are expected to be adversely impacted by the operational de-watering, and on page 12
that the mining operation is not expected to directly affect surface or groundwater systems.
Further, the applicant has provided a detailed ground water model to predict the impacts of pit
de-watering on groundwater resources in the affected land and surrounding area. The modeling
results suggest that the lateral extent of the cone of depression, or shadowing effect, created from
pit de-watering will extend for 1000 to 1,400 feet to the north-northwest from the west pit and up
to 1,200 feet to the north. Please state, affirmatively, that there are no known surface or
groundwater users in the surrounding area that will be adversely affected as a result of the
proposed de-watering operation.
Also, the ground water model includes a recommendation for installation of an area drain to
alleviate the potential for "mounding" of groundwater up-gradient of the pit liner. Please provide
a discussion of the timing for construction of the area drain to be installed, and a definite
commitment to install such area drain.
6.4.12 EXHIBIT L -Reclamation Costs
15. The Division will use a unit cost of $550/acre for re-vegetation and weed control. Also,
please include an itemized cost for installation of the south reservoir berm above natural grade.
Please provide.
6.4.13 EXHIBIT M -Other Permits and Licenses
16. The applicant specifies on page 17 that there are approximately 1.1 acres of mazsh wetland
within the proposed permit area. The applicant has also specified that a 404 Permit will be
obtained from the Corps of Engineers. Please commit to incorporating the details of the 404
permit into the mining and reclamation plan following approval by the Corps of Engineers. (We
anticipate this may be accomplished via a technical revision).
Other
19. The applicant has requested that the application be revised to allow the use of a portable
asphalt and concrete batch plant on site. In order to approve of such request, the applicant must
provide an estimate of the maximum volume ofnon-saleable asphalt and non-saleable concrete
